I have a HUMAX HD Fox T2 and am trying to access iplayer throught the box. I have the latest update (1.00.16), the box is connected to my router which is connected to the internet. I have researched this and found that you can put in a code (7001/5483) on the red button screen to get it but am unable to.
T2 firmware upgrades from the current macOS release trick down with Security Updates to the past two previous releases. Apple does it when it needs to be done, no one knows the schedule for that. Nope, it's basically like an iOS device and updates exactly like it. No keys, no flash or anything.

There are custom versions available for three diferent versions of the standard firmware (1.02.20, 1.02.32 and 1.03.12). The reason the firmware installation is not working is because the 'hdf' file has to be named 'HDR_FOX_T2_upgrade.hdf' - you have missed the 'H' at the start.
If you can, copy any sets of files ,ts, .nts and ,hmt to your PC, do so for safe keeping. Next option is get a Linux boot disk (free) for your PC boot the PC into Linux and run a Linux file system check and repair utility.
